Concrete example of why I want to play Open Ruleset

So I was reading the Gamespot Close-beta blog entries and stumbled across this:

Yesterday, for example, Miguel mentioned the PQ in the Kron Komar Gap. I reached this area today to with Backtowork and found a town evenly divided between Dwarves and greenskins. The challenge for the first stage is to kill 100 of the opposing side's NPCs before they kill 100 of yours. Interestingly, this isn't in a PvP area, so players (unless they flag themselves) can't kill each other. It's all about teamwork and coordination and fulfilling your objectives and interfering with those of your opponents any way you can short of actually fighting them. Depending on how crowded Kron Komar is, it's actually a great, almost pain less way to ease PvE players painlessly into a PvP mindset. You won't get shot by another player, but it does a great job at firing up those competitive juices.

You will notice the comment about PvP flagging --- so here your competing at a group quest, against dwarves, there are Player dwarves in the same area who arent "FLAGGED"  for PvP, and you cant kill them! WTF.  what is the point of that?

because its in a pve area, not everyone wants to pvp ALL THE TIME.  Me for example, the *flagging* is only in pve areas, not in the pvp areas... of which even in the begining theres a fair share of.

UG!!! I want to try both in beta... And I am kind of leaning to Core rules right now... But this is a big point for Open... And really sounds like ****ing lame game design more... Did mythic turn into a bunch of **** idiots?? Ya lets design a zone with direct competion with the enemy but you can kill them. OMG lame.

Personally I don't really care either way which ruleset we go with. I think that open will probably be more fun and give you a better understand of the game and the classes.

I plan on trying both during the beta since all of the info is lost anyway. Really I think that if we are all on the same server our play times are often enough that you won't really have to worry about being ganked while your soloing.

What it should say is, "It does a great job at butthurting some ******* because you killed his mob". I have to agree with zad, most people will be cool about it but there's alot of assclown left nut drips who lives in their grandma's basement that are going to become obsessive with ****ing with you the rest of the game. Just because you killed one of their mobs.

Like I said, I will check it out after a few weeks past release. I got a feeling the game is going to fail. Narrowing a games content to just PvP is cutting alot of people out. If I want to kill people, it's funnier to shoot them in CoD, BF, or Halo. Guns are fun. We'll see though. ashamed

I remember this one time.. I was a badass and these guys tried to kill me and I waved at them and so they killed me... And I'm throwing my vote for open unless you all are too scared of the level 5 dwarf stabbing you in the back.

Is there no radar in this game? You should be able to notice some enemy player nearby
